Head of Website Development

We're a website, marketing automation, and gym management software company that works with over 1000 gyms.

We are on the hunt for a Head of Website Development to lead the Kilo Website Team. This individual should have a keen eye for functional design and excellent managerial skills. 

The responsibilities of our Head of Website include much more than overseeing projects from conception to implementation. While designing and developing websites is a large part of this position, our Head of Website Development may be building infographics, developing SEO related SOPs, meeting with team leads and researching server features, all in the same day. Responsibilities are as broad as staying up-to-date with industry developments and as detailed as reviewing margins on mobile friendly design.

In this role, you will be working with a team of 5-7 designers and developers. The perfect candidate should have strong leadership qualities and be able to provide guidance and support while being highly accurate. This role involves prioritizing work and resources for our team of web developers based on the company’s goals and strategic direction.

An ideal candidate is/has:

A designer with a passion for simple, user-friendly design.

Experience as a web developer

Experience with WordPress

Comfortable with Elementor and ACF.

Proficient in design programs such as Adobe Design Suite (XD, Illustrator, Photoshop,) Figma and Canva

Experience in a managerial position

Excellent management and leadership skills – particularly in managing designers and developers

Highly organized and detail oriented

Has a “figure it out” attitude – investigative/ troubleshooting skills

Strong communication skills – a “people” person

Strong hiring skills – can identify and cultivate early talent

Enthusiastic & energetic

Self starter – work is remote and fast paced

Experience working from Basecamp or similar project management system a plus

Areas of responsibility

Provide support and guidance to Sales, Account Managers, and Project Managers as they gather technical requirements and estimate development time for prospects and existing customers.

Conduct regular team meetings, set goals, and track progress to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently and effectively.

Collaborate with other departments, such as design, marketing, and project management, to align objectives, resolve conflicts, and promote a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Bonus Points – Marketing Agency Experience

You may be a fit for this role if you:

Have a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a developer in addition to leadership and people management skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams to achieve project goals

Familiarity with SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and responsive design principles

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and clients.

Job Type: Full-time independent contractor, 40 hours per week

Compensation: Salary range $75k-85k USD
